GLASS for TWO

GLASS for TWO

GLASS TWO, the joint project of German-Greek pianist Danae Dörken and Luxembourgish vibraphonist and composer Pascal Schumacher, promises a fascinating artistic journey through the multifaceted legacy of American minimalist Philip Glass. The project not only aims to pay homage to a grandmaster of minimalism but also to discover new soundscapes and create a unique listening experience!

In addition to selected works from Glass' repertoire, including excerpts from 'Einstein on the Beach,' 'Naqoyqatsi,' the Metamorphoses, and the Piano Etudes, Schumacher will contribute his own compositions. With Glass as an inspirational source, they give the album an individual and contemporary sound.

Dörken and Schumacher together create an impressive synthesis of piano and vibraphone sounds that align with the minimalist aesthetics of Philip Glass. The duo particularly focuses on creating a unique, crystalline sound that artfully captures the fusion of the two instruments. This extraordinary sound takes listeners on a journey, where not only are Philip Glass's works newly interpreted, but the subtle magic and versatility of piano and vibraphone are also brought to the forefront.
